How to FLOX
Where can I download the app?

The FLOX app is available in the Apple Store and Google Play. Simply click the appropriate link on this website and you’ll automatically be redirected to the download page for your mobile device. You can also search for "FLOX - Freedom to Ride" in Apple Store and Google Play.

How can I find a scooter?

The FLOX app shows the locations of all available scooters. You can search either by map view or list view. The list view sorts all available scooters according to their distance from your location; nearest first of course.

You must enable your phone's GPS location services for the FLOX app to work. If you do not, you will not be able to ride a scooter.

How do I commence riding?

To have the freedom to ride, you must first set up your account by verifying your mobile phone number. Tab on "LOGIN" in the app's menu and follow the in-app instructions. Don't forget to fill out your details in "MY PROFILE" to receive €3 free credit towards your next ride (see Promo Codes below).

You must also setup a payment method by registering your chosen debit or credit card.

Once the above steps have been completed, simply press the "RIDE" button and scan the QR code on the scooter using your phone’s camera to commence the rental process. It really is as easy as pie!

How do I end riding?

Find a reasonable parking spot and press "END RIDE". The app will guide you step-by-step through the process. Again, it’s easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Please remember to park responsibily by not blocking public right of way or leaving the scooter on private property. Also ensure that you are able to securely fasten your scooter's cable lock to a stationary item.

Where can I park the scooter?

You must ensure that you park the scooter (whether temporarily or to end the ride) in a manner that complies with all local laws, rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to:

Do not park on public property;
Do not park in a manner that prevents other Users or FLOX technical team from accessing it;
Do not block public right of way;
Do not park in a manner that may cause nuinsance to other people;
Park only at locations where you are able to securely fasten the scooter's Bluetooth cable lock to a stationary item; and
Park your FLOX in an upright and standing position, with the assistance of the foot stand.

Can I park my scooter without ending the rental period?

Of course you can. When you press END RIDE, you have the option of parking temporarily or ending your ride. Just ensure that you park responsibly before popping into your favourite café or shop. When you are ready to continue your journey, unlock your scooter and off you go. As your rental period did not end, you will be charged for the period of parking.

Can I reserve a scooter?

You know the answer….of course you can! You can reserve any available scooter for 15 minutes, free of charge.

Can I rent more than one scooter at a time?

Unfortunately not. Each account can rent only one scooter at a time.

When can I rent a scooter?

You can commence rental between 07:00 and 22:00. You may return a scooter at any time. However, we do not recommend riding after 22:00. Our FLOXES also needs to get a good night’s sleep so that they are energised and ready to give you the freedom to ride the next day.

How long can I rent a scooter for?

You may rent a scooter for up to 24 hours. Please read our User Agreement for further information and refer to Regional Information for price tariffs relevant to your city.

Payments
How much does it cost to rent a scooter?

Riders pay a small fixed charge for unlocking the scooter plus an ongoing charge for each minute of rental. All rental periods are rounded up to the next minute. Please refer to Regional Information to get details of the tariffs applicable in your city.

How do I pay for renting a scooter?

Simply register your credit or debit card details in our app. Your selected payment method will be debited with the cost of each rental after you end your ride.

You can keep track of the costs being incurred during the rental period on your Dashboard and your final cost will be displayed in Ride Summary and Ride History.

Does FLOX keep a record of my credit or dedit card details?

Absolutely NOT! FLOX uses SafeCharge Limited, a licensed PCI compliant 3rd party payment processing gateway for processing all payments. FLOX does not hold or maintain your payment card details.

Which payment cards can I use?

FLOX accepts Mastercard, VISA and AMEX.

Are there any other costs?

You may have to pay additional costs for incidences including keeping the FLOX for more than 24 hours, a lost or stolen FLOX and damage caused to the FLOX, other than regular wear & tear. Please read the FLOX User Agreement for full details before commencing your rental.

What if I have a billing enquiry?

If you have any queries regarding charges applied by FLOX to your credit or debit card, please contact us or submit an enquiry using the in-app "HELP" feature and we will investigate the matter for you.

Promo Codes
What are Promo Codes

From time to time, we may run special offers for our FLOX riders. These will be in the form of Promo Codes, which may include credits or discounts applicable to future rides.

For instance, if you complete your account registration, you will receive €3 off the cost of your next ride. If the total cost of your next ride is greater than €3, we will debit the difference from your registered payment method.

In order to apply a Promo Code to your account, tab on "ENTER PROMO CODE" in the "PAYMENT" menu and enter the promo code number. Valid and outstanding Promo Codes will appear in the app and will be applied to future rides in chronological order automatically.

Promo codes are issued at our sole discretion, may have a validity period and may change from time to time.

Where can I find a Promo Code?

You can secure your first Promo Code when you first register your account. By completing your account details and verifying your emil address, we will gift you €3 towards the cost of your next ride.

Other Promo Codes will be made available, from time to time, at our discretion and at various intervals. Keep a look out on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for new codes. Similarly, you may find FLOX Promo Codes located at various FLOX Partners, such as cafes and shops!

How can I earn free rides?

Earn free rides by inviting friends to sign up and ride with FLOX. To see your invite code, tap "EARN FREE RIDES" in the app menu.

Every time a new FLOX user signs up using your invite code, they will get €3 off the cost of their first ride. After they complete their first paid ride, you will also receive €3 off the cost of your next ride. If the cost of either rides is greater than €3, the difference will be debited from the registered payment card.

You can share your code by pressing "INVITE FRIENDS" and selecting one of the options available. These include text, email, sharing on social media or copying your personal invite code.

Personal invite codes should only be used for personal and non-commercial purposes. This means you can share your invite link with your personal connections via social media as long as you are the primary content owner.

Public distribution on sites where you are a contributor but not the primary content owner (for example, Wikipedia, Reddit, coupon websites) is not permitted. Promoting your referral code via search engine marketing (for example, AdWords, Yahoo, Bing) is also not permitted.

Referral promotion codes are only applicable to an invited user's first ride and not intended for existing users. Existing users attempting to take advantage of the referral program may have their referral promotions disabled.

Earn Free Rides is a promotional campaign operated by FLOX at its sole discretion. We reserve the right to amend, delete or cancel the campaign at our discretion. We also reserve the right to suspend rider accounts and revoke referral promotions that violate these terms.

Safety and Road Regulations
How old must I be to FLOX?

You must be at least 18 years old in order to be a FLOX Rider.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

We are committed to your safety and wellbeing. This is why we always advise on wearing a helmet when FLOXING. However, please carefully read Regional Information for information relating to your country.

Should I check my scooter before riding?

We strongly advise you to check the condition of the scooter before commencing your rental. This is for your safety as well as the wellbeing of our beloved FLOX.

In particular, you should inspect the condition of the wheels, the safe operation of brakes and lights, the overall condition of the frame and platform, any visual sign of damage or excessive wear and any other mechanical problem. If the scooter makes and abnormal sound or signals an alarm, immediately end the ride and report the matter using thhe in-App feedback feature.

You can also end your rental within the first minute, free of charge, should you notice any issues after commencing your rental. If you do not return your FLOX within this timeframe, you will be charged for the entire period of rental.

Where can I ride my scooter?

There are restrictions on where you can ride your scooter. These vary from country to country. Please carefully read Regional Information for information relating to your country.

Are there any speed restrictions?

Speed restrictions may apply and are dependent on national and locals regulations. Please carefully read Regional Information for information relating to your country.

Other considerations

Please carefully read our User Agreement before agreeing to rent a scooter. Below is a list of some of the points which we wish to bring to your initial attention:

Do not ride a scooter while carrying any object that will impede your ability to operate your scooter safely.

Do not use your mobile phone, portable music player or other devoice that may distract you from safely operating your scooter.

Do not use your scooter for racing, off-terrain riding, stunt or trick riding. Do not use the scooter through water (beyond normal urban riding), in prohibited or illegal locations or in a manner that would be considered to cause nuisance to others.

Do not ride a scooter while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication or other substance that may impair your ability to safely operate your FLOX.

Do not ride the scooter if you suffer from disease that puts you at risk by engaging in strenuous physical activity.

Do not ride the scooter if you are pregnant.

Do not ride the scooter in snow, rain or on roads which are wet, muddy, icy, or that are slippery for any reason.

Do not ride over obstacles that could lead to a loss of balance or traction and could cause a fall.

You must not carry a second person or child on a scooter.

Watch your speed when travelling downhill.

Do not press the throttle when walking with the scooter.

Do not rotate the handlebar violently while riding at high speed.

Do not take your hands off the handlebar while riding. Do not ride with one hand only.

Do not touch the hub motor after riding becasue it can get hot.

You must not exceed the maximum weight limit (100kg).

Always follow local traffic laws and regulations.

Do not ride your scooter if you determine that the environmental conditions (such as rain, snow, ice etc.) make it dangerous to operate the scooter.

Apply the electronic brake and/or foot brake to slow down or stop.

Be careful of obstructions on the riding surface.

Use appropriate hand signals to indicate if you are turning or stopping to inform others around you of your intended actions.

Immediately stop your FLOX if you notice any issues with its condition and report the problem using the in-app feature.

Problems with your scooter
Damaged scooter

Should you notice an issue with your scooter, please report it within the app by pressing the reporting "!" icon. Tab on "Damaged Scooter" and kindly report your feedback. Alternatively, you may send us details of any issues by contacting us or submitting an enquiry using the in-app "HELP" feature.

Note that you can end your rental within the first minute, free of charge, should you notice any issues with your scooter after commencing the rental. If you do not return your scooter within this timeframe, you will be charged for the entire period of rental.

Improperly parked scooter

Should you notice an improperly parked scooter, please report the issue within the app by pressing the reporting “!” icon. Tab on "Improper Parking" and kindly report your feedback. Alternatively, you may send us details of any issues by contacting us or by submitting an enquiry using the in-app "HELP" feature.

Low battery

FLOXES are battery operated e-scooters. Push notifications will be sent to your mobile phone as the battery level reaches 15% or less. Please ensure that you push notifications is switched on in your app settings to enable this.

Once the battery level falls to 10%, your scooter's speed will be limited to conserve the remaining power and your scooter will emit a beeping sound to draw your attention.

We strongly advise you to end your ride no later than at this point as when the battery level reaches 5%, your scooter will automatically switch off. In this instance, please park your scooter and end your rental period in the usual manner.

Missing FLOX

If in the unlikely event you are unable to locate a FLOX even though it appears on the app, please report the matter by tapping the reporting “!” icon. Tab on the "Improper Parking" option and choose the appropriate option. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Reporting an incident

If you are involved in, or witness, an incident involving one of our FLOXES or a beloved FLOX Rider, please immediately contact the local authorities to report the matter.

Please then report the issue to us by calling us on +386 1 292 7015, contacting us or by submitting an enquiry using the in-app "HELP" feature. Our Support Team will attend to your matter in the first instance.

Privacy
Why does the FLOX app require my GPS location?

FLOX helps you to get where you want to go. This means that the we require access to your GPS location services whilst you are using the app in order to provide you with details of the nearby scooters. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further details.

How does FLOX track my ride?

Each FLOX is equipped with a built in GPS tracker, which provides us with real time tracking data during your rental period. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further details.

Why does FLOX need access to my camera?

In order to commence rental, the app will require you to scan the QR code located on the FLOX using your phone’s camera.

The app also requires you to submit photos of the parked (and locked) FLOX when ending your rental period. This is to ensure that your FLOX has been returned correctly.
